September 2008This year the annual OctoberBEST show will be held at the Tektronix Beaverton Campus, in Buliding #38, on September 24, beginning at 08:00AM. As in past years, the show is sponsored by the EMA, the ERA, and the Oregon IEEE. We'll see you there, in Booth #E6! Be sure to stop by, say "hi", and see what we've been doing! Our Principal Engineer, Mr. Patrick H. Barrett, PE, will present a Seminar entitled, "Thinking Inside The Box", at 13:15 in the Barcelona Room. His presentation will detail our company's most recent experience with CAD mechanical design tools, solid modeling, and rapid prototyping. Don't miss it! Engineering, a local high-tech consulting engineering firm, today announced that the firm's Principal Engineer, Mr. Patrick H. Barrett, PE, has been elected to the office of Chairman of the Oregon IEEE Consultants' Network (ORCNET). The ORCNET, is a local group of IEEE Members who are Electro-Technical Experts (mostly electronic and software engineers) available for hire on a contract basis. The IEEE, (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, pronounced "Eye-triple-E"), is a non-profit, technical professional association of more than 377,000 individual members in 150 countries. By virtue of its members, the IEEE is a leading authority in technical areas ranging from computer engineering, biomedical technology, and telecommunications, to electric power, aerospace and consumer electronics.

The IEEE annually hosts more than 300 major conferences and maintains nearly 900 active Standards, with another 700 under development. Mr. Barrett, a graduate of Portland State University (PSU) and a Licensed Engineer noted his gratification on election to this office and his determination to maintain the high standards set by his predecessor. |
