Portland, OR - February is National Engineer's Week, and Barrett & Assoc. Engineering is encouraging everyone to participate in Portland's annual celebration.

National Engineer's Week is an opportunity for engineers to share their experience with local high school students interested in math and science.

National sponsors of the event include the National Society of Professional Engineers, NSPE. Portland's annual celebration is sponsored by Oregon's engineering societies, Oregon's institutions of higher learning, and our educational community in general.

Local events are coordinated by the Professional Engineers of Oregon, PEO, with the able assistance of employees of Portland's branch of the URS Corporation.

The main events in Portland are an interesting tour, followed by a semi-formal dinner at the Lloyd Center Red Lion Inn. For a nominal fee, individual engineers can sponsor and accompany one or more students to both events.

More information about National Engineer's Week is available from the National Engineer's Week website.
